Room Parents serve as a liaison between teachers, parents, and the PTA. The main responsibility of a Room Parent is to support the teacher by coordinating volunteers for curriculum-related and social functions in the classroom. Examples of these activities include classroom parties, field trips, academic helpers, and special events. Another responsibility of a Room Parent is to facilitate communication between classroom families and the PTA. This includes sharing the monthly PTA Newsletter and occasionally soliciting volunteers for upcoming PTA events. Finally, Room Parents are also encouraged to coordinate a social gathering of some type for class families.
Please Note: Room Parent positions (2/class) are typically filled by the order of the sign-up; however, priority is given to those parents who have not yet had the opportunity to be a Room Parent for a particular child.
