Programs & Events

Open Gym Night

During the winter on selected evenings, the gym is opened up to Central families for some indoor fun! Practice your moves, meet your friends and spend time as a family at this free event in the Central Elementary School gym.

An assortment of equipment will be available for a variety of activities. Enter the building through the doors near the cafeteria. Please wear dry shoes. Lockers will not be accessible.

Fourth Grade Farewell

Fourth Grade Farewell is an end of the year celebration for the outgoing fourth grade students.  It is an event planned and run by a group of fourth grade parent volunteers.  Details are to come.

Field Day

This school-wide event for Grades 1-4 is held in June during the school day. The Field Day chair assists the PE staff by organizing volunteers to supervise events, keep scores, and blow whistles loudly. Parents are welcome to be supportive spectators or pitch in and help.  More details to come.

Book Fair

Stay tuned for more details on the 2022 Book Fair scheduled for December 5-8, with a Family Shopping Night on December 7! We will send out a link for volunteers in late October once we know the days that the teachers will take their classes.

We Will Need Volunteers!

Our Book Fair is an annual event that will take place this year November 8-11th! The theme this year is Candyland and we welcome you to “treat” yourself to a good book. We will send out a link for volunteers in late October once we know the days that the teachers will take their classes.

Sister School in Tanzania

Year-round, Central students become acquainted with a sister school in Tanzania. Children may exchange small items and letters with penpals, and receive letters and items in return.

Bike Safety Days

The Bicycle Safety Day Committee coordinates with the Wilmette Bicycle Task Force and the Active Transportation Alliance to help children learn and review bike safety tips during the school day.
