Doors open at 5:30, where pizza and Homer’s ice cream will be available for purchase. Order form coming soon!
STEAM Challenges – Starting at 6 pm, all Central students, siblings, and parents are invited to work together, at your own pace, to accomplish 2 different Dyson Foundation STEAM challenges.
Escape Room-Style Treasure Hunt – Central students, siblings, and parents team up to follow a trail of clues, codes, puzzles, and cyphers through the school that will reveal the combinations to the locks on the treasure chest. Solve at your own pace. As each lock is opened, we will recognize the first group to solve, but we will keep the solution secret and the chest closed until 7:00 to give other teams a chance to solve.
Young Creators Exhibition (Minecraft, Legos, Building Toys, Videos, Crafts!) – This is a purely optional exhibition for a few budding young Central School inventors and creators that want to bring and show off the STEAM related creations they have made at home.
Category 1: Bring a file of a world you created in Minecraft or other simulation game and give us a 3-minute tour on the big screen (instructions for parents to copy these files is forthcoming)
Category 2: Bring in your Lego or other building toy creation and demonstrate it
Category 3: Bring in an MP4 or other common video file format of a creative video you produced and show it on the big screen. We’ll limit to a 3-minute excerpt.
Category 4: show off a drawn, 3D printed, or crafted design. Exhibitor check in/setup starts at 5:45 and exhibit timeslots will start at 6:15.
