The PTA offers many wonderful ways to be involved at Central with your children and the community.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, support our school and meet people!
Calling all fabulous parents! Be a volunteer in the Cafeteria and join your child for lunch! Your kids will love seeing you and it’s easy and fun. Lunch duty is 11:00 to 12:20 and we welcome any and all volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to see this wonderful resource from the inside, as well as say “Hi” to your child(ren), if you choose a day that corresponds with their class schedule.
Recess is available for volunteers every day and there is no need to sign up and reserve a spot. Just pick a day, check in at the front office, put on the lovely bright green vest, and head out to the blacktop/field/playground!
The garden is open during recess on Tuesdays and Fridays (weather permitting) until early November and reopens in the Spring. Children can spend their recess in the garden to explore, help with garden work, play games with friends, read, draw with provided paper and art supplies, participate in nature art projects or just enjoy this beautiful, peaceful space. Parent volunteers who provide supervision during recess enable the garden to be open and accessible to children during that time.

Welcome to Central School’s Art Awareness program! The Art Awareness committee works to bring exciting extra-curricular art activities to Central School each year. This program is sponsored by the PTA and led by both parents and Ms. Berngard.
Have you noticed fiber arts like sewing and embroidery making a come-back? We have! The Art Awareness committee is excited to bring the traditional art form of hand embroidery into the classroom. Embroidery has ancient roots across all cultures and remains popular today. Each student will use fabric and stitching techniques to create a house on their very own embroidery hoop.
We are looking forward to The Art of Embroidery during Art Awareness week 2/11 – 2/15.
